Singer Jill Sobule, Pope Francis, game show host Wink Martindale, actor Nicky Katt, former NFL safety Matt Stevens, the first Black woman elected to Congress as a Republican Mia Love, heavyweight champion boxer George Foreman, R&B singer Angie Stone, New York Dolls lead singer David Johansen, Oscar award-winning actor Gene Hackman, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" actress Michelle Trachtenberg and "Killing Me Softly" singer Roberta Flack, are among the notable deaths of 2025.
